Corrugated Product Depalletize Verify & Product Fulfillment System Using Gantry Robotics |

- A pair of 6-axis 360 kg payload robots and a custom built gantry robot are used as an integral part of an Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) for handling paper products
- Two identical roll pick cells which work together to meet the constant demand for rolled paper products and a single gantry robot is used for distributing the corrugated and fiber products.
- The ASRS identifies a product, conveys it to the appropriate cell’s infeed spur conveyor.
- The 6-Axis robots pick rolls of paper product from pallets dispensed by the ASRS to the roll pick cells. Automatic tool change allows the robots to select the correct size mandrel for picking a single or multiple rolls of product.
- A robot mounted vision camera and laser distance sensors locate the top roll of product and the location of the core,
- The 6-Axis robot will then pick the roll(s) of product from the incoming pallet and places them on dual turntable a barcode verification station. The rolls are spun and barcodes are verified.
- The robot will re-pick the verified rolls and set them on the appropriate delivery cart. Once the cart is full it will be sent out of the cell.
- The Gantry robot is equipped with EOAT consisting of swiveling forks and side clamps for picking product from the pallets dispensed by the ASRS.
- The Gantry robot picks a full or partial load and transfers this to a delivery cart. This cart will then be sent out of the cell.
- Dual safety doors on all cells open and close to allow the cart to safely exit the cells. The inside door opens, cart is transferred out, the inside door closes, the outside door opens allowing safe access for an operator to hitch and remove the cart for distribution in the plant
- Slip sheets and roll core plugs are automatically removed by the robots.
